What is Electrolysis?

Electrolysis is the only permanent solution to removing unwanted facial and body hair regardless of hair or skin color, hair texture and skin type.

 

How does Electrolysis work?

The procedure involves sliding a thin, sterile probe into the hair follicle and applying a small amount of electrical current. The objective is to destroy the areas of the follicle that provide the nutriments for hair growth. Once the target areas are destroyed, the hair releases and tweezers are used to remove it.

 

Is it really permanent?

Electrolysis is permanent in the hair follicle treated. Electrolysis only works on hair follicles that are actively growing. You can expect the hairs normally showing in your area to be roughly one third of active hair follicles. If you have been plucking, way less. If nothing changes with your hormones or the blood supply of hair to the area, you can expect other follicles in your treatment area to grow more hair.

 

What areas of the body can I have treated?

Electrolysis is safe for all areas of the face and body with the exception of inside the nostrils and ear canal.

 

Will I need multiple treatments?

Yes. Treatment plans vary, yet definitely more than one treatment is required to clear an area. Treatments vary greatly from person to person and depend on a number of factors including hormones,  the amount of hair, the size of the area being treated, sensitivity level and the hair growth cycle. Because of these variables, multiple treatments are necessary.
